CONTROL PLANE
The Quant Azimuth Control Plane is the operational core of our DPI platform for policy, traffic, and system management. It governs how data is processed, how policies are enforced, and how the system scales to meet national deployment demands. Working closely with the Data Plane and Mediation Layer, the Control Plane enables intelligent, automated, policy-driven network behavior.

Core Components of the Control Plane

1. Apache Kafka Cluster
Acting as a high-performance, distributed messaging backbone, the Apache Kafka Cluster enables seamless communication between system components, including:
• Ingesting high-volume data streams from DPI units in the Data Plane.
• Distributing traffic data in real-time to the Application Server Cluster.
• Decoupling data producers (i.e., DPI probes) from consumer application logic for flexible scaling.

2. Application Server Cluster
A horizontally scalable cluster hosting multiple instances of our intelligent Application Servers. Built for fault tolerance and elastic scalability, including:
• Processing traffic intelligence received via Kafka.
• Implementing core traffic management and subscriber-centric functions.
• Scaling dynamically based on network load and business requirements.
• Supporting load balancing to optimize performance and redundancy.
